Wolves Winning Season Comes to an End by Josh Vachon

On February 25th, the Bay City Central Wolves faced off against the Midland High Chemics. Coming off their best season in over 15 years, the Wolves tried to win against a team that none of the seniors have beat before, the Chemics.

In the start of the game there was a lot of good energy from both teams as Midland shot 5/6 from the three point line in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Wolves locked down and shut the Chemics down to only four points in the paint to end the half.

As the second half took place the Chemics came out to play especially Isaiah Bridges as he knocked down four consecutive buckets to make the score 24-29 in the late third quarter.

In the fourth quarter the Wolves see themselves down by nine as the score is 45-36 and the Chemics have the ball to start, Bay City Central gets a turnover but couldn’t capitalize for points. Late fourth quarter the Chemics try and dribble the ball out for the rest of the game as the Wolves switch defenses to try and stop them from wasting time.

As the game winds down the Wolves slowly lose the game more and more each minute the ending score was 44-56 Chemics win. As the seniors show out for their last game as Elias Ramirez scores 24 points, Marcus Marcott with 11, and Austin Williams with 8. The Wolves finished 10-10 on the year and lose first round of districts to have their season come to an end for good.
