BCC vs Heritage by Ashlyn Robertson

Friday night, the Bay City Central Varsity Team traveled to Heritage High School in Saginaw. The game was Heritage’s Homecoming game, so the student section was filled with eager students.

Central brought a special guest to the student section this week. Willie the Wolf made an appearance, in hopes to get everyone excited and involved in the game. Senior, Nolan Gasta took the responsibility of being Willie. “It was fun seeing everyone smile, and having kids get excited to see me,” Gasta said.

The game didn’t end in Central’s favor, the final score being 28-7. Senior, Marcus Zavala made the only touchdown for the team. Although it was a loss, the Student Section spirit wasn’t affected. A number of students made the drive to the game and participated in the white out theme.

After the game, Willie took photos with fans and tried to get the players in a better mood after the loss. The boys said they are not done trying. It’s hard after a loss to keep trying but they are keeping their heads up and making sure they keep pushing to get better. The season isn’t over yet, we still have time to come back and show everyone what we can really do.
